Nitin Gadkari's proposed visit deferred, again

Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has yet again postponed his proposed visit to the state, which was earlier rescheduled from July 2 to July 8 .
Now, his visit to the state has been postponed indefinitely in view of the cabinet expansion of the Modi government at the centre.
The union minister was scheduled to inaugurate four completed projects including Makru Bridge and lay foundation for 12 new projects during his visit on July 8.The completed projects, which the union minister was supposed to inaugurate are Makru Bridge (Rs 62.38 crore), 45.680 km long double-laning of Imphal Moreh Road NH 39 Package 2 from 350 km to 395.680 km (Rs 868.75 crore), blacktopping of 27 km long Senapati-Kangpokpi-Sekmai section of NH2 (double lane) and construction of pave shoulder (Rs 139.87 crore).
Other projects enlisted for the inauguration include blacktopping and construction of pave shoulder for 47.68 long Mao-Senapati Section (double lane) of NH 2 (Rs 235.32 crore) .
On the other hand, the proposed new projects for which Nitin Gadkari was to lay the foundation stones are double-laning of Maram Peren section of NH 129A under Package 1B (Rs 188.36 crore), double-laning of 12.665 km long stretch of NH 37 under Package 1 (Rs 139.38 crore), double-laning of 195.14 km long stretch of NH 37 under Package 2 (Rs 195.14 crore), double laning of Maram Peren Road under Package 1B (Rs 188.36 crore), double-laning of Maram Peren Section under Package 2B (Rs 232.26), double-laning of 10.32 km long stretch of Imphal Moreh section of NH 39 under Package 3 (Rs 259.31), double-laning of 19.411 km long stretch of Imphal Moreh section of NH 39 under Package 4 (Rs 227.98 crore), dou-ble-laning of 12.05 km long Old Tamenglong to Phelong Road of NH 137 under Package 3, four-laning and upgrade into divided highway of 12.435 km long stretch of Taphou Kuki to Daili section of NH 39 under Package 4-A (Rs 379.39 crore), four-laning and upgrade into divided highway of 10.7 km long stretch of Kuraopokpi-Sekmai stretch of NH 39 under Package 5-A (Rs 228.97), four-laning and upgrading into divided highway of 11.029 km long stretch of Nilakuti to Sekmai section of NH 39 under Package 5-B (Rs 211.7 crore).
The 12 projects is worth around Rs 2841 crore.
Mention may be made here that the state government had made all necessary arrangements for the inauguration function of the bridges including construction of a helipad by Bhartia Infra Project Limited.
Trial landing at the helipad was also conducted.
As of now, the government is not in a position to fix a schedule for the inauguration.
