Imphal, July 06 2021:
Maintaining that the chief minister has failed to translate into action demands placed to the Covid central team which visited state last year, CPI Manipur State Council appealed to the Covid central team, which is currently in the state, to give necessary instructions to the government to contain the pandemic.
In a release, CPI Manipur State Council assistant secretary M Joyku-mar informed that a state secretariat body meeting was convened on Monday to discuss the Covid-19 crisis in the state.
He recalled that CPI submitted a memorandum and urged to establish a Covid dedicated hospital to the Covid central team which visited Manipur last year.
The team leader approved the proposal and assured of recommending the same to the state government.
Even though it is known that their demands have been brought to the knowledge of the government by the central team, the chief minister has not translated it into action till date, he lamented.
Pointing out that CPI had sent a proposal to the government to form Coronavirus Task Force which has representatives of all political parties, Joykumar denounced that the government is remaining silent as mute spectator on this issue too.
Urging the visiting central team to direct all necessary instructions to the government, Joykumar cautioned of high fatality rate in Manipur even greater than the percentage of India in the third wave if no precautionary measure is taken up in time.
