Gadkari hailed for laying foundation of road projects

Former RD & PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa has expressed gratitude to Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari for inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for several national highway projects on July 12 at City Convention Centre, Imphal East.
Some of the projects for which foundation stones were laid by the Union Minister included two-laning with hard shoulders from Maram Centre to Maram Duigan of Maram - Peren section of NH-129A (total length - 22km, cost of project Rs 226 cr), 2 laning with hard shoulders from Maram Duigan to Willong Khullen of Maram-Peren section of NH-129 A (length - 18km, cost of project Rs 188 cr) and 2-laning with hard shoulders from Bendramai to Zuimi of Maram - Peren section of NH-129A (length 18km, cost of project Rs 232 Cr).
Two-time minister Ngajokpa stated that Maram-Peren road development committee and the people of the area would remain ever grateful to Gadkari and his team of retired and present officers of the ministry of road transport and highways and NHIDCL for the unthinkable development brought to the area.
He also expressed gratitude to CM N Biren Singh and Minister (works) Biswajit for having special concern for the people of this remote area.
Ngajokpa said that NH-129A is a lifetime prized trophy for the people of the area which connects with other states of the country and expected speedy development would follow.
He recalled that Nitin Gad-kari had given a patient hearing to him during a meeting at Road & Transport Ministry Bhawan in 2015, requesting him with supporting reasons to convert Maram-Peren road into national highway connecting Manipur and Nagaland.
Ngajokpa also mentioned that Vijay Chibber (MT cadre 1978) , the then secretary of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and chairman of National Highways Authority of India and his team of officers took shortest possible time to convert Maram-Peren road to NH and issued order on May 14, 2015 declaring the road stretch as national highway no 129A.Ngajokpa further said that within a span of 7 years, a survey was done, DPR prepared, project sanctioned and foundation stone laid on July 12 by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at City Convention Centre, Imphal.
He added that the Union Minister in his inaugural address assured that money is not the problem and people will extend full cooperation to the executing agencies so as to complete the work on time without any disturbances.
