Ccpur, Sekmai police seize liquor, arrest three

Imphal, July 15 2021:
A team of Churachandpur district police led by OC inspector N Thangzamuan raided two locations at Mantop Leikai, Churachandpur town and seized liquor worth around Rs 3 lakh on Thursday.
According to a report, the police team raided the house of one Laishram Ranjan (32), s/o L Dwijamani of Mantop Leikai and recovered 96 cans of alcoholic beverages and 528 bottles of IMFL of different brands.
The police team also raided the house of Nongthombam Basanta (46) s/o N Gorbadhon of the same locality and seized 80 litres of DIC, 384 cans of alcoholic beverages ad 840 bottles of IMFL from his possession.
The seized liquor will be disposed of at Mata disposal site in the presence of press and media, the report said.
In a similar crackdown, Imphal West district commando seized large quantity of liquor and alcoholic beverages from a store named Taret located at Sekmai Bazar and arrested its owner.
According to a report, the police commandos raided the store around 11:30 am and recovered 119 cans of alcoholic beverages, 363 bottles of IMFL and 59 bottles of DIC liquor.
The arrested owner of the store has been identified as Soram Thoithoi Singh (36), s/o Kala Singh of Sekmai bazar.
