One new case added, five discharged

Imphal, March 31 2022:
As the Covid 19 pandemic continues to make its presence felt among the public though in a less significant way, the state on Thursday reported only one new positive case out of 489 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 0.20 per cent positivity rate against 1.13 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 5 patients were discharged from home isolation (3) and Covid Care facilities (2).Number of active cases came down to 34 out of which 13 (38.24 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 297 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 187 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 11,306 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 311 new positive cases and 8 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 28 and 0 respectively.
According to official report, the lone fresh case (male) is a resident of Kangpokpi district.
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,37,094 (general population - 1,32,080 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,940 (general population - 1,29,933 and CAPF personnel - 5,007) and number of active cases is 34 (general population - 34 and CAPF personnel - 0).The recovery rate is 98.43 percent.
A total of 281 D-type and 97 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 2754 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,39,292, including 11,81,785 who have received the second doses and 65,929 precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,706), Imphal East (30,422), Thoubal (10,148), Churachandpur (11,050), Kangpokpi (3130), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9826), Senapati (2491), Ukhrul (3270), Kakching (6888), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1199), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,181 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,653 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,16,167 tests per million population against the national average of 5,61,808 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 489 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.20 per cent while the cumulative rate stands at 8.56 per cent.
