Kangpokpi, September 25 2022:
Civil society organisations (CSOs) based in Kangpokpi have resolved to picket the office of BJP Sadar Hills from September 26 onwards as BJYM and its parent organisation BJP have allegedly failed to clarify on K Orphanage incident which took place on September 16 .
The CSOs in Kangpokpi have also resolved to continue to ban all activities related to the BJP in the district and serve a week's time to respond to the demand of the Leikot area people.
Speaking to the media, spokesperson of one of the CSOs Thangtinlen Haokip said that the decision to lock the office of BJP Sadar Hills at Kangpokpi town and continue its ban on BJP activities were taken during a joint meeting of the CSOs today.
He claimed that it was the BJYM volunteers who chased, caught, and handed over Mangminsei Kipgen to Gamnom Saparmeina police with a bullet injury on September 16 last.
He went on to claim that Mangminsei Kipgen was shot in the leg by BJYM volunteers and thrashed with a baseball bat despite begging for mercy.
Further claiming that the BJYM volunteers forcefully took the photo of Mangminsei Kipgen with contraband drugs, he maintained that Mangminsei denied peddling drugs multiple times.
He also cautioned that things might get out of hand if the BJP, mother organization of the BJYM, doesn't take the matter seriously and do the needful.
