Steps on to house over 400 inmates in Kamjong : MLA

All necessary steps are being taken up for establishment of more COVID-19 quarantine centres in Kamjong district to accommodate more than 400 returnees, said Phungyar Assembly Constituency MLA Leishiyo Keishing.
The district administration, Health Department and authorities concerned are putting in their best efforts to establish at least 5 quarantine centres in Kamjong, he said adding more quarantine centres may be set up if need arises.
The MLA with SDO and SDPO Phungyar had on Tuesday inspected the ongoing work to set up a quarantine centre at Enlightened Christian Academy in Kamjong DHQs.
It may be noted that 40 who had returned earlier from Guwahati are being quarantined at the Kasom quarantine centre.
Moreover, among the 1,140 that reached the State yesterday from Chennai by Shramik Special Train, 13 are from Kamjong district.
They will be lodged at a quarantine centre in Kamjong DHQs, said MLA Leishiyo.
He and the authorities concerned are looking after the needs of the quarantine centres.
New toilets, bathrooms are being constructed and installed and water for daily usage are being arranged, he said seeking support and cooperation of the public for successful maintenance and administration of the quarantine centres.
