Distribution of PDS rice continues

Imphal, May 14 2020: To ensure that the people of the State are provided with PDS items especially rice, the State Government continues distribution of rice allocated for the month of May, 2020 in certain Assembly constituencies of the State.

In Thoubal District today, 541.70 quintal of rice under National Food Security Act (NFSA), 540 quintal under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and 65 quintal under Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) were distributed to the beneficiaries of Thoubal AC .

Beneficiaries of Wangkhem AC received 1,830 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 279.95 quintal under OMSS.

For Khangabok AC, 507.04 quintal of rice under NFSA was distributed.

Imphal West District also reported distribution of 20 quintal of PDS rice under OMSS to truck drivers.

Lifting of PDS rice was also carried out for certain ACs of the State today.

In Imphal West, a total quantity of 4,291.76 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted for its Sagolband AC (1,431.3 quintal), Singjamei AC (1,259.35 quintal), Konthoujam AC (1,177.11 quintal) and Patsoi AC (424 quintal) .

Mao AC of Senapati district also lifted 2,112.01 quintal under NFSA from Ningthoupham godown.

In Thoubal District, Khangabok AC reported lifting of 80.15 quintal of rice under AAY and 631.63 quintal under NFSA today.

Thoubal AC had lifted 610.15 quintal under NFSA, 1,480.50 quintal under PMGKAY and 200 quintal under OMSS.

Jiribam AC completed lifting of its allocated quantity of rice for both NFSA and PMGKAY for the month of May with the lifting of 537.66 quintal under PMGKAY today.

For Tamei AC under Tamei Sub-Division of Tamenglong District, there was lifting of 1,182.10 quintal of rice under PMGKAY from Sangaiprou FCI godown and for Tamei AC under Tousem Sub-Division, 77.32 quintal under PMGKAY and 387.65 quintal under NFSA was lifted from FCI godown, Jiribam today.

In Bishnupur district, Thanga AC reported lifting of 1,338.35 under PMGKAY and 366.15 under OMSS today.

There was lifting of 1,536.10 quintal of rice under PMGKAY, 689.30 quintal under NFSA and 420.25 quintal under OMSS for Oinam AC and 1,611.65 quintal under PMGKAY for Kumbi AC in the District on May 13 .

Imphal East district reported lifting of rice under OMSS (386.50 quintal) and under NFSA (2,005.70 quintal) for its Andro AC and 2,193 quintal under NFSA and 314.33 under OMSS for Wangkhei AC on 13th May, 2020 .

Chingai AC of Ukhrul district lifted 602 quintal of rice under PMGKAY on May 13.Uripok AC of Imphal West district and Hiyanglam AC of Kakching district also lifted 314.90 quintal under OMSS and 620.70 quintal under OMSS respectively on the same day.

The State Government has been distributing PDS items under NFSA, PMGKAY and OMSS in all districts of Manipur to ensure no one suffers on account of non-availability of foodgrain on the backdrop of the outbreak of COVID-19 and the ongoing lockdown in the State.
