Imphal, May 14 2020:
Suspected workers of an ex-Minister allegedly abducted three persons and physically assaulted them yesterday.
The unknown persons "suspected" to be workers of an ex-Minister of Andro AC abducted the three identified as Ningthoujam Okendro (34) of Andro Awang Leikai, Sagolsem Chaoren (51) of Andro Makha Leikai and Chingakham Shyamkeshore (46) of Andro Sanapat from different places yesterday at around 2 pm, alleged one of the three.
Speaking to media persons at Yairipok yesterday night, Sagolsem Chaoren alleged that the unknown persons forcibly blindfolded them and threw them inside a vehicle.
The persons started beating them inside the moving vehicle and later brought them to a house.
When the blindfolds were removed, they came to know that the house allegedly belongs to one identified as Bobo alias Dhiren of Huikap, alleged Chaoren.
He further alleged that Ravi, younger brother of the ex-Minister was already there at the house.
Shortly after, a team of police came and took them to Yairipok Primary Health Centre, he claimed.
Later, the police personnel left them at an election camp at Andro.
He has no idea whether Andro Police have taken up a case regarding the incident, said Chaoren asserting that "ex-MLA's workers are disturbing the peace at Andro" .
