Chaoba, Rajen join BJP, more to follow suit
BJP to launch agitations against 'misrule' of UPA Govt from June 22

Putting an end to speculation, many prominent politicians including former Union Minister Thounaojam Chaoba, former Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen and former General Secretary of MPP Robin Blacky have joined BJP along with their workers today.
It is said that around 20 other noted politicians have also established contact for joining BJP very soon.
Taking into consideration of the political changes likely to come about in Manipur, BJP Northeast in-charge and Zonal Organisation Secretary P Chandrasekhar Rao, who arrived here yesterday, met leaders of various political parties and carried out a mass enrolment drive Nirmala Hotel today.
According to information received by Hueiyen Lanpao, though the names of Thounaojam Chaoba, Sorokhaibam Rajen and Robin Blacky have been formally announced as new members of BJP, there are many others whose names have not yet been made official.
They include former MLA Thangjam Nandakishore of Kshetrigao A/C who got elected on NCP ticket; Salam Joy of Wangoi A/C, Moirangthem Prafullo of Wangkhei, Naoroibam Ratan alias Kapu of Heingang A/C, Dr Nimaichand Luwang of Wangkhem A/C who recently resigned from the post of MPP President, N Sovakiran of Heirok A/C, P Saratchandra who contested in the last election as candidate of Trinamool Congress in Moirang A/C.In addition, there are also many others Zilla Parishad Members and Pradhans who are waiting in line to join BJP.
Their names would be announced after the ongoing enrolment drive being conducted in phase-wise manner is completed and a reception function would be hosted to coincide with the scheduled visit of BJP National President Nitin Gadkari in last week of this month.
Joining of Chaoba, Raken and Robin Blacky to BJP was formally announced by party's State unit President Shantikumar Sharma during a press conference attended by P Chandrasekhar Rao and other party leaders at its Nityapat Chuthek here in the afternoon.
Shantikumar further announced that organizational election of the party would also be conducted very soon so as to make necessary preparations well in advance to contest for both the Lok Sabha seats of the State in the Parliament election of 2014.With the 3-year term of State unit party President completing, efforts are being made to elect a new party President.
Thounaojam Chaoba stated that he has come to the fold of BJP once again to strengthen the Opposition.
People have suffered a lot under the misrule of the Congress party.
So, there is the need to make the Government opens its eyes.
Rajen said that he joined BJP to put an end to misrule and corruption of the Congress party.
Expressing happiness over the development, P Chandrasekhar Rao maintained that BJP would be able to consolidate its position in Manipur, Assam and Arunchal Pradesh and play a decisive role in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
BJP is also all set to launch a series of agitations against the misrule of Congress-led UPA government at the Centre with effect from June 22, he added.
