Jacky leads in pen-ultimate round at Chess Tournament

The ongoing 22nd Kh Anou Singh Memorial State Level Open Chess Tournament 2012 organised by the Kwakeithel Chess Club is heading for an exciting finish in the last round which is to be played today as Jacky unexpectedly led the championships with 5.5 points by the end of the penultimate round played today.
At the top table, former champion S Premjit suffered a loss to Jacky.
After today's defeat, Premjit had to win his last round match while Jacky losing his last round match in order to win the championships.
At another table, defending champion Sanjoy playing his favourite Sicilian Defence was able to get full point by defeating his rival Ranjit.
Another rated player Dhanabir defeated Brojen in a tough match.
At another table, international plyer Gobind had a tough time to gain half point by forcing a draw against Ningthem.
At one stage, Ningthem was in a winning position but he failed to capitalise his advantage.
At the end of the round 6, jacky with 5.5 points is leading the championship.
Following him are Sanjoy, Premjit and Dhanabir with 5 points each.
The final round matches will begin from 6.30 am tomorrow.
The prize distribution function will be held tomorrow at 3 pm with MLA RK Anand and Pesident of Kwakeithel Chess Club S Rashi as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Ex Minister L Jayantakumar will also be attending the function as Guest of Honour.
