Ukhrul, September 20 2015:
The Ad-hoc SMDC, Ukhrul block while expressing regret and resentment on the indefinite shutting down of ZEO office, Ukhrul has appealed to the TFO to review their decision in the wider interest of the public.
The TFO accused the ad-hoc SMDC and some department officers of fund misappropriation.
In a press meet held at UDWJA, office today, convenor the ad-hoc SMDC C.Kasar appealed to the TFO to verify all the details and other information fed to them by some vested persons before any action is initiated, otherwise unnecessary problem will crop up and will only handicap development.
Secretary Varu added that the ad-hoc SMDC was constituted purely for new building construction of primary schools in all blocks of Ukhrul district where the respective DI/AI is the chairman.
According to their reports, primary schools were constructed after GPS mapping within 1 km radius of the village habitation area.
While the residential school of Shangshak is under construction and is progressing, no complaint has been received so far, they added.
When queried about the e-transfer of Rs 1,52,86,320 for 20 new primary schools, they maintained that the money was found wrongly credited, therefore it has been re-deposited in account of the State Project office and is pending for settlement.
Instead of shutting down the ZEO office indefinitely, things can be sorted amicably after physical verification of all the details and relevant documents.
They asserted that construction work has been completed and inspection has been carried out by the concerned department.
They appealed to the TFO to reconsider their decision because it is only affecting people of Ukhrul, apart from delaying all office file processes.
Moreover, students applying for JNV have been greatly affected.
TFO must verify the charges labelled against them on fund misappropriation or anomalies in SSA implementation, otherwise they should withdraw the allegation.
