Imphal, September 20 2015:
LYS Cement and Steel Agency has refuted media report about the booming of industrial estate and homestead land in areas to be affected by the proposed Jiri-Tupul rail-line.
Speaking to reporters at Yarou Bamdiar loukon, Managing Partner of LYS Cement and Steel Agency, Laishram Ratan Kumar said LYS had been insisting the State Govt since 2007 to convert a total land of 11.35 acre of 88-Yarou Bamdiar and 79-Yurembam loukon as industrial land.
Prior and due consents of the local elected members of Konthoujam, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa and Patsoi ACs were obtained for the purpose of setting up industrial estate in the area at that time, he said.
On receiving approval from the authority concerned for setting up of industrial estate in the area, a manufacturing unit for LYS Plastic Industries and LYS Packaged Drinking Water was initiated in 2011.A loan was also availed from NEDFi for the purpose, he added.
However, all works have been stalled after the coming of the railway project the same year.
The site where the manufacturing unit was set up is not in the mid of agriculture land but near a village link road, he clarified while adding that relevant documents are with them and the Govt office concerned.
The land for setting up the manufacturing unit was not acquired with the intent to claim compensation, he clarified.
