Incessant rains flood Imphal city

Imphal, September 20 2015:
Most of the areas of Imphal city have been inundated by the incessant rains that lashed the State in the last two nights.
Imphal city which has the largest number of potholes on its roads has been a victim of such rains.
Now, it has been filled with dirty overflowed waters from drains.
Kakwa Asem Leikai, Moirangkhong Krishnapremi Oil Pump and nearby areas along the National Highway 102 and Hodam Leirak, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, Nganapi Thong, Irom Pukhri Mapal, Moirangpurel, Takhellambam Leikai, Sagolband Thingel Leikai have been turned into waterlogged roads.
Meanwhile, a source from the Irrigation and Flood Control Department (IFCD) said that the quantity of rain in the Imphal Raj Bhavan area recorded from Saturday till Sunday morning was 33 mm while Lamphel area registered 39 mm of rain during the said hours.
Kangpokpi had a rainfall of 19 mm, Saikhun area recorded 14 mm and Litan area registered 32 mm.
Nambul river, Imphal river and Kongba river waters are flowing at normal level, but Waishel Maril has been overflowed due to the incessant rains.
