Class XII results set to be declared on May 22

Results of Higher Secondary Examination (Class XII) 2023 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) would be declared on May 22 at 3 pm .
This was announced by Education Minister Th Basantakumar during a press meet held today in DIPR conference hall at Keishampat.
Informing that evaluation of answer sheets of HSLC Exam 2023 conducted by BSEM has been going at a hectic pace, Basantakumar said that results of HSLC Exam 2023 would be declared by the first week of June.
Evaluation of answer sheets of Class X has been delayed due to shortage of examiners of different languages subsequent upon the current crisis.
Nonetheless, BSEM has mobilised enough examiners and they have been evaluating answer sheets round the clock at a secure place, the Education Minister said.
Noting that the results of CBSE's Class X exam were declared quite early.
Basantakumar said that he would write to reputed and popular schools located outside the State to relax the deadline for admission of students from Manipur in Class XI.
On the other hand, 4747 students from Primary to Class XII level who have been displaced on account of the ethnic conflict and are currently taking shelter at different relief camps have been identified.
Of the total displaced students, 932 belong to Kangpokpi district, 67 to Jiribam, 199 to Thoubal, 648 to Imphal West, 25 to Wangoi Zone, 501 to Imphal East, 2217 to Bishnupur, 92 to Churachandpur and 66 to Kakching district.
He said that the Education Department would provide textbooks and other study materials to these displaced students so that they can resume their studies.
The department is currently making an assessment of the number of college students who have been displaced and are currently taking shelter at relief camps, Basantakumar said.
He said that textbooks, other study materials and uniforms
would be distributed to the displaced students starting from May 22 .
Dedicated volunteers from the localities of the relief camps would teach the displaced students from 10 am to 1 pm at the relief camps, he said.
Sports materials would also be given to the displaced students so that they play on the local grounds in the evening, Basantakumar said.
In the meantime, displaced students reading in Classes IX to XII have been allowed to seek transfer and admission in � any Government school of their choice, he said.
The Government would initiate necessary steps so that students of private schools too can seek transfer and admis-sion in safer schools, he added.
