Kakching, May 20 2023:
Hiyanglam MLA Dr Y Radheshaym declared that he supports and endorses the demand for abrogation of the tripartite So0 agreement signed with the Kuki militants raised by MLAs and stakeholders of the state.
Speaking to reporters during the handing over of relief materials (rice, dal, edible oil and salts) to relief camps opened in Wa-bagai assembly constituency on Saturday, Dr Radheshyam recounted that after 34 MLAs submitted a memorandum to the central government, four other MLAs also followed suit.
While explaining that he was not able to join his counterparts due to hospitalisation, he informed that as the Kuki militants have violated the SoO ground rules, pose serious threat to integrity of Manipur and strain cordial relationship among the different communities settling in the state, there is no reason to continue with the SoO agreement.
Dr Radheshyam also advised the 10 Kuki MLAs to withdraw their demand for separate administration for the Kuki and its kindred tribes so as to bring peace and normalcy in the state.
