Imphal, December 03 2022:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has cautioned of stringent agitations if the authorities concerned fail to release the OBC Post Matric Scholarship 2021at the earliest.
Addressing a press meet held in connection with the above issue at DESAM Office in Kwakeithel today, Secretary General DESAM, M Somorjit stated that, 'The OBC Post Matric Scholarship 2021 given in different categories by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India is pending for around 24,996 students in Manipur' .
Expressing concern over the failure to release the scholarships at the appropriate time by the departments concerned of the State Government, he maintained that students are having a tough time since they have been deprived of the aid which is needed for their studies.
Considering the plights of the students, he urged the Government to initiate speedy measures to release the pending scholarships at the earliest in the interest of the students failing which the students will be compelled to resort to various forms of stringent protests.
On the other hand, Somorjit also appealed to all concerned to extend time to apply for scholarships through NSP since many students including Manipur University students of various departments were unable to apply within the set time frame due to non-completion of admission processes.
