Governor highlights essence of Gita

Governor La Ganesan has categorically stated that the value of Gita which is based on the advice given by Lord Krishna to Arjun ahead of Kurukshetra war is getting larger as even many foreign Nationals have acknowledged it.
The Governor made the remark while attending International Gita Jayanti Celebration cum Gita Path at Shree Shree Govindajee Temple today.
Altogether 108 pandits recited Gita Path at the function.
The celebration was joint-ly organised by Samskrita Bharati, Manipur Prant and Shree Shree Govindajee Temple Board.
Continuing his speech, the Governor said that Lord Krishna who is one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu is widely worshipped throughout the world.
He also said that there are many life lessons which can be learnt from Gita to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh also attended the programme .
He stated that the initiative to revive Sanskrit de- serves appreciation as the ancient and classical language of India might disappear, if not promoted.
While talking about many important lessons one can learn from Gita, N Biren maintained that reading the revered Hindu texts helps people in understanding themselves.
He further said that the initiative taken up to rediscover the value of ancient Indian civilization which was suppressed during the period of Muslim and British rule is praiseworthy.
Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba, on the other hand, stated that Gita is a trove of knowledge.
It is generally believed that Gita gives solutions for every problem, he said and added that organising such events will do good for the society.
Govindajee Temple Board Brahma Sabha Byabasthakari, G Damarupati Sharma and Samskrita Bharati, Manipur Prant Adhyaksa, S Vedeshwar Sharma also attended the programme.
