Medical camp conducted at T Waichong village

22 Assam Rifles of IGAR (E) conducted a special medical camp-cum-scrub typhus awareness drive at T/Waichong village in Kangpokpi district on Saturday with the stated objective to provide basic healthcare services in remote areas of Manipur where medical Infrastructure is scarce.
A team of two doctors of the AR Unit along with specialist Dr Robindro (Obs & Gynae) and support from local CSOs provided special facilities like testing of scrub typhus to the locals, who were also distributed medicines as prescribed by physician, paediatrics and gynaecologist.
The camp commenced with an informative lecture that enlightened the locals on basic healthcare issues and ailments like scrub typhus, thyroid, eye infection, flu, respiratory Illnesses, blood pressure, etc.
The camp also emphasised on dissemination of information on various government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, CM's Health for All Scheme, among others.
A total of 307 civilians, including 187 women and 58 children, were given treatment and medicines distributed free of cost.
