Meritorious students, sports persons, scientist feted

The Sana Janmasthan Club, Keishamthong, Imphal West in its Annual Prize Distribution Function held on August 20, awarded cash prize along with Certificate of Appreciation to the meritorious students of Class X and XII, belonging to Moirangningthou Leirak, Laisom Leirak and Aheibam Leirak, which fall under the club's jurisdiction .
During the function, Pukhrambam Hepari Singh who won Gold medal in International Thang-TA Championship, continuously during the year 2013, 2014 and 2015 held in China and Korea, was also felicitated .
The club also awarded Tiluck Keisham for creating Guinness Book of World Record in Limbo Skating, continuously for two years during 2015 and 2016 .
Dr Thiyam Ranadhir Singh, Head of Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal was also honoured for his excellent scientific contribution in registering Kaunayen- an indigenous chicken of Manipur as a recognized National breed of chicken .
Dr Ranadhir is presently serving as the general secretary of the Sana Janmasthan Club.
Laisom Tombi Singh, ex-president of Sana Janmasthan Club; Th Gopimohon Singh, National Awardee; Dr H Hemchandra Singh, ex-Director, Department of Health Services, Government of Manipur and Th Mahendrapratap Singh, Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Manipur graced the function as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively .
The Sana Janmasthan Club was registered in the year 1958-59 at Shillong and is considered as one of the oldest clubs of the State.
