AMBA unhappy with lack of toilet facilities

The All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) before the High Court of Manipur, yesterday, against the State of Manipur and nine others in connection with violation or infringement of the fundamental rights of general public, public litigants, lawyer community and officials .
The PIL was filed by AMBA, represented by its president, H Chandrajit, under Section 226 of the Constitution, seeking intervention by the High Court of Manipur in the wake of the unavailability of proper toilet facilities in the premises of District and Subordinate Court of the State and for constructing the said facilities along with making provision of all necessary arrangements and hygienic daily maintenance .
The PIL further submitted that the lack of toilet facilities causes immense hardship to the litigants, lawyers, staff and the general public and where most of the available toilets are either locked or in dysfunctional state .
It also mentioned that such unhygienic conditions may lead to various diseases and cause a range of urological problem.
