NIELIT extension centre opened at Senapati

The Senapati Extension Centre of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Imphal was inaugurated yesterday by PK Jha, DC of Senapati.
The inaugural function was attended amongst others by Uttam Chand Laishram, Director of Science and Technology and Kh Bodhachandra Singh, Director of NIELIT Imphal as the guest of honour and president respectively.
The extension centre is temporarily located at Angkailongdo, Senapati town, said a statement.
The centre has been set up under the project, Development of NE Region by Enhancing Education/Training in IECT area with funding from the Dept of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt of India.
The land for the centre has been allotted by the Govt of Manipur on March 15, 2013 for its permanent campus inside the present district hospital premises.
At the outset, the extension centre has introduced three courses�1 year NIELIT O-level in IT, 1-year NIELIT Computer Hardware Maintenance O-level and 3-month certificate course in e-Governance application.
All the courses conducted in the extension centre is free for SC/ST students, it added.
