Imphal, June 24 2020:
LJP Manipur has categorically stated that the 'unfolding struggle for power' between certain legislatures in the State amid the COVID-19 pandemic is rather unfortunate.
Speaking to media persons during a reception ceremony of five Congress workers who joined LJP and a woman who will contest the Assembly election from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC on the party ticket, spokesperson of LJP, Manipur Ningombam Ibohal said that this point of time is not ideal for playing 'petty' politics, but should work together for the welfare of the masses irrespective of the difference in ideologies.
He then appealed to all legislatures to prioritise on combating the pandemic so as to ease the suffering of the masses.
One of the newly joined members of LJP, Soraisam (o) Kebi, who is the managing director of Chumthang Shannapung is preparing to contest Assembly election from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC on LJP ticket.
Former office bearers and workers of Congress such as Nameirakpam Nimaichand; Laishram Kulachandra, Oinam Manglem, Pukhrambam Khamba, Sarangthem Chaoba and Laishram Thaniljao also joined LJP.
Ningombam Ibohal also stated that the party members are toiling hard to strengthen LJP under the supervision of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam.
Though the LJP is not envious of power, the party wants to bring about a positive change in this unscrupulous politics that is played today in the State, with legislatures often switching sides, he said and added that members of LJP are firm on their stands.
He also urged all concerned not to conduct delimitation based on erroneous census reports.
