Denouncing the continuous rise in fuel prices amid the COVID-19 induced lockdown, Left Parties, Manipur has appealed to all concerned to check the ever-increasing petrol and diesel prices at the earliest.
In a statement issued today, the Left Parties said that they will launch agitation by joining hands with the public if the demand is not fulfilled.
The parties also claimed that giving more opportunity to oil companies to make them richer by this incumbent Government at the cost of the public who are already affected by the lockdown is very unfortunate.
Demanding the Government to reduce some percent of excise duty charge on fuel, the parties cautioned that they are prepared to launch agitation if the Government fails to address the plight and grievances of the public.
The statement also demanded the Government to deposit Rs 7500 in bank accounts of poor for the next 6 months and at the same time distribute 10 kg of rice per head of underprivileged families at free of cost.
