MNCA U-14: ESU, SU, YPHUC, AKSDO notch up easy wins

Imphal, February 15 2024:
ESU, SU, YPHUC and AKSDO emerged easy winners in Thursday's action of the 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
ESU handed a 10-wicket thrashing to SSC at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part-IV, Imphal.
ESU bundled out SSC for 123 in 25.3 overs with the help of bowlers Soibam Sayonba Singh, who claimed 3 wickets, Sandham Abhinash Singh and W Lanchenba, who both took 2 wickets, and Soibam Venus Singh (1 wkt) and Devashree G (1) .
They then achieved the target in 17.5 overs as openers Soibam Sayonba Singh hit an unbeaten 56 and Sandham Abhinash Singh was not out on 36, propelling ESU to a big victory.
SU enjoyed a thumping 8-wicket win over BKCC at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
Opting to bat, BKCC made 124/9 as only Manganchao-ba Irengbam (16), Nepoleon Kongkham (13) and Jbrunce Hirom (10) reached double digits in the innings.
In reply, SU outscored BKCC in 18.3 overs with contributions from Philan Rajkumar (33 not out) and Devraj Sorokhaibam (31).The team lost 2 wickets during their run chase.
Earlier, Keisham Anderson, Sagolsem Hemjit Singh and Nongam Rajkumar each took 2 wickets for SU.
YPHUC outshone YUCC by 6 wickets at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband.
YPHUC restricted YUCC to 168/7 and then they chase down the target in 24.1 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.
In their successful chase, Loktongbam Hanish Singh scored 41 and Irom Ishor contributed 30 for YPHUC.
Earlier, Jangammei Maring mei led the YPHUC bowling attack, claiming 4 wickets.
Irom Ishor snapped 2 wickets and Konsam Mangai Singh bagged one.
On the other hand, M Amitkiyon smashed 105 for YUCC in a losing cause.
AKSDO defeated SHADOW by 49 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.
AKSDO batted first and posted 147/6, with strikes from Chingamba Elangbam (46), Paikhomba Laishram (25), Borish Khudrakpam (22) and Gunachandra Khundrakpam (15 not out).
The side then ended SHADOW'S run chase in 22 overs for 98.Saikhom Dinesh claimed 4 wickets, Md Ushmal Ali and Khundrakpam Boiton picked up 2, and Chingamba Elangbam and Avinash Waikhom took one each to steer AKSDO to a convincing win.
