Army, AR conduct mega medical camp

Amidst ongoing tensions in Moreh, Tengnoupal district, the rural healthcare system has suffered considerably, leaving villages without access to basic medical services.
Recognising the urgent need, Indian Army and Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised a mega medical camp at P Laijang village on Thursday as part of Operation Sadbhavna, serving 12 villages, PRO IGAR (S) said in a press release.Prioritising the most vulnerable, including the elderly, pregnant women, and children, the medical team performed thorough check- ups and distributed essential medicines, addressing the scarcity exacerbated by the tensions.
The event drew an overwhelming turnout, with over 500 villagers attending from 12 villages north of Moreh, the release further said.
The joint initiative received widespread appreciation from the local community, who saw it as a beacon of hope amidst communal tensions.
Representatives from four villages visited the camp to express gratitude to the medical team for their thoughtful efforts, which underscored the commitment of the Indian Army and 1GAR (South) to serving conflict-affected communities and ensuring essential services reach those who need them most, it continued.
Operation Sadbhavana continues to demonstrate the Army's dedication to fostering peace, stability, and well-being in the region, the release added.
