The Kakching branch of Shiv Sena, Manipur Pradesh was opened at Kakching Ningthou Leikai, Khongnang Mari Phangba by party's state president M Tombi on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration function, M Tombi clarified that opening the branch office in Kakching has nothing to do with electoral politics but to galvanise support to join the movement for saving the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The party has no interest in conduct of elections at a time when a crisis prevailing and Manipur is burning, he maintained.
While lamenting that crisis in the state has been lingering for almost 10 months now, Tombi pointed out that Shiv Sena has placed a number of demands to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other national leaders with some already fulfilled or addressed.
However, the demand for abrogation of SoO agreement signed with armed Kuki outfits is yet to be acknowledged, he said, while expressing that only when the latter demand is upheld there will be peace and harmony in the state.
