CHAMP, CYCLONE, RULE notch up wins in MNCA Elite Tournament

CHAMP, CYCLONE and RULE registered victories in Wednesday's league matches of the 8th MNCA W Prahlada & W.Ramananda Elite Tournament.
CHAMP outclassed MODEL by 82 runs in their meeting at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.
Fine knocks by Md Sultan Karim (70) and Narsingh Yadav (56) helped CHAMP post a decent 225/7 .
Thingbaijam Nicholson Singh (25 not out), Keisham Kennedy (22) and Moirangthem Thomas Singh (20) also made valuable contributions in their innings.
CHAMP then successfully defended their total, thanks to their collective bowling effort.
They stopped MODEL'S run chase in 37.4 overs for 143 as Ravi and Moirangthem Thomas Singh scalped three wickets each, and Mohd Ahsanul Kabir and Md Sultan Karim chipped in with two wickets apiece.
The only performers in CHAMP s chase were Bijenku-mar Singh Nongmaithem (51) and Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam (31).Earlier, Robertson Singh Laishram took three wickets while Dibak Naorem and Waikhom Priyokumar Singh got two each for the Khagempalli side.
CYCLONE beat TRAU by six wickets in a curtailed match at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.
Electing to bat, TRAU were 145/6 in 21 overs as Priyojit Kangabam top-scored for his team with 45 and Dr Siddharth Shah scored an unbeaten 35.Both Nongmaithem Suraj Singh and Abdul Kasim claimed two scalps for CYCLONE.
In their response, CYCLONE completed the chase in 19 overs with six wickets remaining.
It was Bikash Singh (59 not out), Bikash Singh (42) and Maisnam Raju Singh (14 not out) whose knocks propelled the Thangmeiband squad to a convincing six-wicket win.
In the process, they lost two wickets to Somorjit Salam and one to Priyojit Kangabam.
RULE, meanwhile, outplayed ESU by 64 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
Asked to bat, RULE posted 228/9 with contributions from Sanjembam Somokanta Khuman (59), Ayekpam Rakesh Singh (35), Chabungbam Ishworjit Singh (31), Sanjenbam Suresh (28), Nongthombam Sarojkumar Singh (18) and Sanjenbam Ananda Singh (13 not out).
RULE then bowled out ESU for 164 in 41.2 overs as Nongthombam Sarojkumar Singh and Sanjenbam Ananda Singh picked up three wickets apiece and both Thokchom Kishan Singh and Avinash As -mali took one wicket in their dominant victory.
