Meetei employees plea for poll duty in valley

Imphal, March 20 2024:
Citing high tension and unrest situation besieging the state, government of Manipur employees belonging to the Meetei community appealed to authorities concerned not to assign them election duty for the 18th Lok Sabha in Tamenglong and Noney districts.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club on Wednesday, one N Hemchandra said on behalf of Meetei employees of various government departments that they are collectively appealing to authorities concerned to post Meetei employees in the valley rather than the hills, owing to potential threat to their lives.
