RIMS observes Oral Health Day, holds health camp

A month-long observance of World Oral Health Day commended from Wednesday at RIMS Dental College along with flagging off of 'cyclothon' rally by RIMS director G Sunil Kumar Sharma.
A release issued by RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh informed that the cyclothon aimed at making the public aware on importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, was flagged off in the presence of RIMS (admin) deputy director RK Mecolt Singh, Dental College principal B Praveen Reddy and Indian Dental Association (IDA) Manipur president RK Ratankumar Singh and participated by principal Praveen Reddy, doctors, officials, staff and students of the Dental College.
In his address, the RIMS director announced that to promote awareness on oral health importance, health tamps, seminars and public talks will be organised during this month long observance.
While stating that the RIMS Dental College has one of the best facilities among similar institutions in the north east, he urged the public to avail the service and facilities apart from declaring that the college will soon be expanded by including MDS course.
Meanwhile, RIMS also organised 'Swachhta Health Camp' at Leimaram Kangjeibung community hall in Bishnupur district as well as 'Free Eye Camp' at Khurai Konsam Leikai in Imphal East district.
The health camp was conducted under the supervision of doctors of department of Medicine, ENT, Paediatrics, Eye and Orthopaedics, nursing officials, pharmacists and staff of RIMS, Imphal.
Free medicines were also distributed to those in need who attended the camp.
