Savei VLF office building inaugurated in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, March 20 2024:
A newly constructed building of Savei Village Level Federation (SVLF) at Razai Khunou village dedicated to the self-help groups (SHGs) operating under Jessami block was inaugurated by Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) state mission manager Khamba Ronglo on Wednesday.
Inauguration of the SVLF building constructed with the support of Transport minister Khashim Vashum, was attended by social activists Shimreingam Zimik, Thotreihan Ruivah and Thanshok as well as district coordinator L (farm) & BI, Jessami, Dr Khamrang Mathukmi along with more than 500 members of SHGs from Chingjaroi CV, Khunou and Khullen, Razai Khullen, Kharasom, and Jessami.
Attending the inauguration ceremony on behalf of minister Khashim Vashum, who could not make it due to his official engagement, Shimreingam Zimik stated that the official dedication of the SVLF office building has now opened a new chapter towards economic uplift and development for the SHGs in Jessami block as the building shall now serve as a central hub for all SHGs in the area, providing them with a space to conduct their activities, meetings and trainings.
Speaking on the occasion, MSRLM state mission manager Ronglo mentioned that the SVLF office building is the first of its kind in the entire Ukhrul district, with three other Village Level Federation (VLF) building located in Imphal.
Stating that the new facility is for the empowerment and uplift of economic status of SHGs, he urged the SHGs to take full advantage of the facility to improve their economy and develop apt financial discipline to achieve self-reliance and growth.
Ronglo also spoke on the mission of MSRLM to uplift impoverished population through economic, social and spiritual changes, while promoting unity and humanity using the service of SHGs.
He maintained that MSRLM covers 1090 villages under 55 blocks out of 70 blocks in 16 districts of the state.
