AL-AMEEN, PCC, YWC & TCMDC cruise in MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

Imphal, February 10 2024: AL-AMEEN, PCC, YWC and TCMDC all emerged easy winners in Saturday's fixtures of the 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.

AL-AMEEN produced all-round performance to overpowered CYSA by 268 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.

AL-Ameen opted to bat and amassed 311/1 in the allotted 30 overs courtesy of Md Ashique, who smashed 120 not out, and Shohei Akter, who hit 97 not out, after opener Sheikh Anisur Rahaman fell for 9.The Lilong boys then needed 11.5 overs to bowl out CYSA for a mere 43.Md Duwa Aziz led the bowling attack with a 4-wicket haul, while Raqib Nongjaimayum claimed 2 wickets, and Arish and Md Ashique chipped in with one each in Al-Ameen's emphatic victory.

In their chase, Thokchom Akash Singh (17) was the lone run-getter in double digits for CYSA.

PCC, on the other hand, enjoyed a 155-run win over KASC at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband.

Electing to bat, PCC posted a competitive 282/5 with the help of Lucky Thokchom (69), Pravin Kumar (64 not out), Dilshan (270, Ajay Mahto Kumar (23) and Rojer Laishram (19).In the process, the squad lost one wicket each to Mehetab, Md Alfas, Md Ruhal and Mujamin.

PCC then took 26.5 overs to bowl out KASC's run chase for 127.Lucky Thokchom was the pick of PCC's bowlers, claiming 4 scalps.

Pravin Kumar contributed 2 wickets while Lamnganba Nongmaithem, Pebam Yoimayai and Master Boy Anoubam.

For KASC, Mudashir (16), Leishangkhong Maqubul Fida Ali (15), Mujamin (11), Mehetab (11) and Zakariya (10 not out) were run-getters in their futile run chase.

YWC outclassed SCCC by 7 wickets at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.

Asked to field first, YWC bowled SCCC out for 55 in 14 overs, with Indrakumar Singh Sanjenbam grabbing 3 wickets, Seram Tondonsa-na and Seram Bidyachandra taking two each, and Kelvin-son Khoisam and Nongpok-nganba Ngathem taking one apiece to seal the victory.

YWC then took just 4.1 overs to complete the chase courtesy of Seram Tondon-sana (20), Sanathoi Sanjenbam (3) and Kelvinson Khoisam (1 not out).

In the chase, YWC lost one wicket each to Moirangthem Johnson and Tomthinganba.

TCMDC defeated NCA by 97 runs at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part-IV, Imphal.

TCMDC scored 187/5 after being asked to bat first.

Yumnam Tomthinnganba (47 not out), Chandrashaker Sharma (38) and Dipachandra Sagolshem (17) were key contributions in the innings.

In reply, NCA faltered in their chase as they could only manage 90 after they were bowled out in 14.4 overs.

Vishonath Laishram shone with the ball for TCMDC, claiming 6 wickets, with Moirangthem Romesh Singh, Yumnam Tomthinnganba and Devraj Ningthoujam contributing one wicket for their convincing victory.

Earlier, Thongam Rahul took 4 wickets while Ahenba Longjam got one for NCA.
