Will launch agitation if accused not arrested: TYA

Tronglaobi Youth Association (TYA) advisor K Bidyachandra Singh has warned of launching intense agitation if the government failed to arrest those involved in the hit and run case that took place along Tiddim Road in Tronglaobi at around 6:45 pm on February 8 that left wushu player Heishnam Thomas (13) seriously injured.
Thomas was shit by a white Maruti car coming from the direction of Churachandpur and heading towards Moirang.
Addressing a press meet in this regard on Saturday, K Bidyachandra informed that H Thomas, son of H Subhashchandra of Thanga Heishnam Leikai was participating in the sanda event of the Wushu Coaching Camp Cum Championship organised by Red Shield Division at Tronglaobi Ibudhou Nongpokningthou Apanba Apanbi premises from February 4 to 10.On that fateful day, he along with his five and six friends were returning to the camp after their play when the incident happened.
Thomas is presently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital ICU in critical condition, he informed.
Bidyachandra reiterated that authority concerned should arrest the car owner at the earliest or the owner should come forward and help in treatment of Thomas, who had won gold medal at national level and silver medal at state level wushu tournaments.
On the other hand, Thanga Meira Paibi Apunba Lup co-convener K Indubala said that Thomas has a very bright future in wushu and appealed all to extend help in his treatment so he can play again.
The press conference was also attended by TYA president S Uttamkumar, Women Self Development president Y Tarubi Leima, family members of Thomas and wushu players.
