Imphal, June 16, 2010:
Three youths who are drug abusers have landed in police custody in connection with stealing three bells from the temple of Shri Shri Bijoy Govindjee at Sagolband today.
The incident came to light at around 9.30 am today when the Pujari of the temple was preparing for the morning rituals.
The three drug abusers identified as Mayanglambam Yaima (18), Wahengbam Shanta (24) and Okram John alias Boinao (30), all residents of Sagolband Bijoy Gonvinda were rounded up by the local club members and Meira Paibis from Wahengbam Leikai.
All three of them have reportedly admitted to the crime and disclosed that the bells have been sold off in a metalware shop at Wahengbam Leikai.
