In all 460 vehicles including 223 Tata Sumos/Tata Wingers, 73 oil tankers, 24 LPG bullet tankers, 350 other trucks and passenger buses left Imphal yesterday along NH 53 under security escorts to lift essential commodities from outside the State, according to police report.
Meanwhile, our Jiri correspondent informed that at least 350 Imphal-bound goods laden trucks including diesel, petrol and LPG carriers have been stranded at Jiribam and Cachar in Assam waiting for the escorts.
