Imphal, June 21 2023:
Make it clear that they would not remain silent if any force or party threatens the integrity of Manipur, the Pangal community staged extensive protests at different areas today.
Protest demonstrations were staged at different areas inhabited by Pangals as per a resolution adopted by the AMMOCOC and other Pangal CSOs.
AMMOCOC secretary general Wahidur Rahaman who took part in the protest demonstration said that the Pangal community would not remain silent if any force challenges the integrity of Manipur and the sanctity of its territorial boundary.
If the Central Government does anything which threatens the integrity of Manipur in the name of working out a solution to the prevailing crisis, the Pangal community would not accept it, he said.
It is a matter of shame that the Government of India is still unable to work out a solution even though the crisis is almost 50 days old, he said.
"Under such circumstances, we feel ashamed to call ourselves Indians.
It is rather unfortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not been speaking a single word on the crisis", Wahidur Rahaman said.
Apart from Pangal inhabited areas of Manipur, protest demonstrations were also staged at Pangal inhabited areas of Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh.
