Some of the common slogans raised and placards used at all the protest sites were "No separate administration in Manipur," "Keep the unity and integrity of Manipur intact", "Make the stand of Manipur Government clear," "Stop militarisation in Manipur" and "Don't play communal card" among others.
Speaking to media persons at one of the protest sites, advisor to AMUCO Ito Tongbram said that the people of Manipur need to fight the Kuki militants who want to disintegrate Manipur collectively.
Saying that the step motherly treatment meted out to Manipur by the Centre is questionable, Ito expressed desire for both the Centre and the Manipur Government to understand the sentiments of the people and take up necessary actions to restore peace and normalcy in the State.
A protester at Mongsangei Awang Leikai Thokchom Indubala said that the crime committed by Kuki militants against innocent civilians is unpardonable.
Saying that the source of livelihood for many families have been cut by the prevailing situation in Manipur, she continued that schools shutting down for a prolonged period is another big concern to them.
Indubala also expressed her dissatisfaction against the conduct of Central security who are deployed in Manipur to protect lives and properties.
