As the State continues to stay on the boil, humanitarian aid from all quarters still pours in to provide a healing touch to those who have been left homeless in the wake of this violence.
Today, Thoubal Sabaltongba Apunba Meira Paibi and local clubs organised the 6th phase of aid extension wherein they distributed relief materials to nine relief camps set up across Bishnupur district.
The relief materials include daily essential items including food items and clothing.
Speaking in this connection, a representative by the name of Nongthombam Dhaneshori stated that the Government must resolve the ongoing conflict and restore normalcy in the lives of innocent civilians.
Meanwhile, volunteers of Pandam Village Level Federation (VLF), Thouna Leibi VLF, Thouna Faba VLF and Khekman Apunba Meira Paibi Lup extended relief materials to District Administration Thoubal to be distributed to the relief camp inmates seeking refuge in Thoubal district.
At Kakching, one Oinam Biken from Jiribam Municipal Council Ward No 7 and Oinam Anita from Jiribam Lakhipur Ward No 9 donated clothing items to the inmates at Tekcham Mayai Leikai Community Hall relief camp.
The clothing items were handed over via Soibam Bheigyachandra, secretary, Lamjingba Club from Tekcham Maning Leikai and the club members distributed the times to the relief camp inmates.
Separately, one Thokchom (Ongbi) Memcha Devi and her family from Kha Potshangbam Maning Leikai offered lunch to the roughly 180 inmates at Kumbi Terakha Upper Primary School relief camp in the name of her late husband Th Joychandra.
Notably, the relief camp was set up by Terakha Youth Club Kumbi and displaced families from Churachandpur, Waikhurok, Bangla, Torbung Kangvai and Phougakchao Ikhai have found sanctuary here.
JIANA Helping Group Porompat extended aid in the form of vegetables, lentils, cooking oil, salt, kids' toys and medicines to the inmates of the relief camps set up at Hiyanglam Girls' Junior High School, Wabagai Higher Secondary School, Sugnu Awang Leikai and Sugnu Makha Community Hall.
They also donated medicines to the security personnel stationed at Serou Practical High School.
