Kukis to give new look to Sep 13

Kangpokpi, September 09 2023:
Kukis in Kangpokpi district have decided to avoid hoisting black flags and donning black clothes on the day of "Sahnit Ni-widely known Kuki Black Day" on September 13 .
This decision was taken during a meeting attended by top civil society organizations of the Kukis in Kangpokpi district along with intellectuals, and prominent Kuki leaders on September 5 at the DHQs.
The meeting on the observance of "Sahnit Ni" was held under the aegis of Sadar Hills Chiefs' Association, Kangpokpi district.
The meeting decided to observe September 13 as a "Prayer Day for Peace" in Kangpokpi district and avoid mass congregations to observe the day like in the previous years.
It resolved that "there should be no more hoisting of black flags in every household and along the roadside like before, and no donning of black clothes" .
All Kukis must pray for peace as the day shall be observed as a "Prayer Day for Peace", the CSOs resolved.
