Nanao JAC demands probe, removal of AR

Along with demanding judicial enquiry into the death of Soibam Nanao after he was hit by bullets fired by personnel of 26 AR at Pallel on Friday, a JAC Against Killing of Soibam Nanao has been formed and raised demand for removal of Assam Rifles from Manipur.
A public meeting held on Saturday also resolved to appoint a 14-member executive committee in connection with the killing of Nanao.
Addressing media persons on Saturday, JAC convenor Kesham Rana said that the meeting took a number of resolutions including judicial enquiry into the killing of Nanao, removal of AR from Manipur, lodging of FIR against 26 AR and immediate resignation of state s home minister.
He further informed that the body of Nanao would not be claimed by the family members until the said demands are fulfilled.
Later a sit-in protest was organised at Wangjing- Lamding Keithel during which various slogans like "Stop Killing Civilians", "Go back Assam Rifles", "We are against the killing of civilians" and "Save Manipur from Kuki Narco-Terrorist" were raised.
Later, representatives of the JAC submitted memorandum to the DC for forwarding the same to the chief minister.
Separate copies of the memorandum were also submitted to the Heirok MLA Th Radheshyam and Wangjing-Tentha MLA Paonam Brojen through their PROs.
