The family of a woman, who had been arrested by the police on the charge of recruiting children to underground outfits, has been ostracised from the locality, the family residing on Wednesday.
Fifty-five year old Loitongbam Memcha Devi wife of L.Manimohan of Wangoo in Bishnupur district presently staying at Langol National Game Village zone III was arrested by the police from her current residence on June3 last as recruiting officer of the Lalheiba group of the KCP (MC).
She was also charged of recruiting young boys for the said organisation.
A sit-in protest cum public meeting was held today at Langol National Game village zone III under the aegis of United Community Youth Club (UCYC) and resolved to turn Memcha and her family from the locality forever.
Mohan, a leader of the UCYC, said, "It is very unfortunate to the people of the Langol National Game Village Zone III that one of the members from their locality invol".
People of different communities living in Langol zone III and school students taking part in the sit-in protest said that they strongly condemn the act of Memcha Devi who is now in the custody of the police in the case of the child trafficking.
They said that the people resident in this Langol National Game Village zone III are all government servant such behave must restrict in this place so that no one do such kind of inhuman incident again in the future.
Placards with slogans like "Children need love no torture, We strongly condemn illicit child trafficking, Save child for the future, Don't look children as the grocery item in the shop, Child smuggler is human enemy, Save the child right and protect them, Youths are the future of the tomorrow, Stop child rights violation they are the pillar of our nation" etc etc were displayed at the site of protest.
