CPI launches campaign to end violence

CPI, Imphal East District Council on Sunday launched a mass campaign to keep intact the territorial boundary of Manipur and end the ongoing violence.
The campaign was launched with a public meeting at Kshetrigao in Imphal East district participated by leaders of the party like L Sotinkumar, RK Amusana, H Bimol, Kh Merajao and Athokpam Juboti Devi among others.
Addressing the gathering, L Sotinkumar said that every individual in Manipur is now aware of the history of Manipur following the present crisis while the global fraternity are discussing the history of the people of the state.
' The present crisis also gives the opportunity to clarify and rectify Wrong history of the land being narrated by some communities, he said, adding that the history of Jananeta Hijam Irabot cannot be altered or forgotten as it was due to his selfless contributions that the territorial integrity of Manipur remains intact till date.
According to Sotinkumar, BJP's double engine government is causing, immense suffering to the people of Manipur.
In the past eight months, several people have lost their lives and more than 60,000 people have been rendered homeless and displaced as their houses were burnt down, he said, adding that the suffering of the people will not end till removal of the BJP government.
