MAYOL campaign to wrap up today

The Lamshang Khongchat (long march) of Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) , which was flagged off from the revered Kangla Utra Shanglen on December 20, will conclude on Tuesday at Maharaj Gambhir Singh memorial complex, Canchipur.
The march will formally conclude with a people's assembly, which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, 11 am at Manipur University campus.
MAYOL has appealed to the people of the state to participate in the public meeting in large number, as important decisions would be adopted.
On the penultimate day on Monday, the march was flagged off from Manipur College, Chinga Makhong by Peace and Relief Committee, Manipur College, convenor Nameirakpam Bobby.
From there, the marchers passed through Thumbuthong, Palace Compound, Konung Mamang, and reached Lizard Library, Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak, where a public meeting was held.
Socio-political commentator Chongtham Bijoy, and L Sanoi College, Nambol, assistant professor Dr Shreema Ningombam spoke as main speakers at the meeting.
After having lunch there, the marchers resumed the foot march from 3 pm and passed through Wangkhei Sangaipat, Bamon Leikai, Kongba Road, Singjamei Bridge and Singjamei Bazar, before reaching Kakwa Lamdaibung, where another public meeting was held.
Manipur University, school of humanities and environmental science former dean professor W Naba kumar spoke as key speaker.
The marchers will spend the night there.
Earlier, addressing a press meet at Lizard Library, MAYOL convenor Asem Prince said that the long march, which was flagged off from December 20 last year under the theme 'national regeneration', will conclude on Tuesday with a public meeting at MU campus at 11 am.
The meet will ac several resolutions for a strong and united Manipur.
It will discuss the challenges faced by the community, how dangerous these challenges are, how to face the challenges and adopt national policies and programmes to overcome those challenges While understanding the roles and responsibilities of the community and its members, he said, while urging the people to participate in the meeting.
