BSF organises civic action programme

Under the aegis of Sector Headquarters BSF CI (Operations) Manipur, 29 Battalion BSF organised a civic action programme at CI Post Dam Daar Dus with SHQ CI (Operation) Manipur DIG Kulwinder Singh attendance in the presence battalion commandant Sonam Chhering.
The programme was aimed at extending friendly and helping hand to the villagers and connect with the village chiefs along with representatives of Leikoiching, Sopleng Happy Land, New Salem, Nongpok Kakching, Nongren, Napet Palli and Oksu.
Various items like HDPE pipe, solar street light, gym items, water syntax, sewing machines, sports items like sports uniform, carom boards, volleyball, basketball, football, volley ball and football nets, etc., were distrib uted among the village heads for common use of villagers Furthermore, Kulwinder Singh and Sonam Chhering visited Senior Citizens Home (Old-age home) at Laiching Nongpok Kakching near CI Post Damodar and distributed blankets, rice, pulses and other edible items.
The villagers showered their gratitude and thanked BSF for the items provided to them.
DIG Kulwinder Singh also interacted with the members present and motivated them to help coordinate and create healthy and peaceful environment.
He pointed out that BSF has been conducting similar programmes along with its primary duties in maintaining law and order situation with an Objective of promoting coordination with civil society for the progress and uplift of the society.
He also stressed that BSF is always ready to help needy people and will be available for any help whenever called upon.
