Arambai Tenggol (Dissolved), Sawombung bodies clarify on Lucy's death

While strongly condemning the murder of Maring lady, Luey Marem of Narum village near Pallel town on July 15 in an Imphal East district village, Arambai Tenggol (Dissolved), however, has refuted the allegations levelled against is in connection with the death of Lucy.
In a statement issued to the press on Mori day, Arambai Tenggol (Dissolved) affirmed that its objective is to save the future of all indigenous people of Manipur and the group is not the irresponsible psychopaths, as being depicted by some groups.
The charge levelled against Arambai Tenggol for killing Lucy Marem d/o Thoukhal Marem by some apex bodies of Naga is really unfortunate.
Arambai Tenggol does not expect such kind of allegations from responsible bodies without concrete evidence and as such it will be extremely grateful if the organisations concerned clarify on the matter.
It then urged all individuals/organisations not to blame Arambai Tenggol for every crime committed during the unrest situation in Manipur without,any valid proof/evidence.
Arambai Tenggol consists of only a group of reasonable young men who are committed to protect the culture and identity of our native land, the release declared while reminding that the group has already been disbanded.
In case of any illegal activities committed, the individual(s) concerned will be responsible, not Arambai Tenggol, it maintained and pointed out that with regard to Lucy Marem's killing, the culprits have been apprehended and relevant information/ details of the case can be ascertained from the police department.
The Government will certainly take stern actions against the miscreants/culprits, according to the law of the land.
Arambai Tenggol (Dissolved) then appealed to fellow brothers and sisters of Manipur to understand who are our kin and blood relation, and not to take any action, which will be regretted later on.
Meanwhile, Sawombung Students' Club, Sawombung Meira Paibi and Sawombung Semgat Sagat Marup in a joint statement, strongly condemned the brutal killing of a Maring 'mother', while clarifying that they never handed Lucy Marem to Arambai Tenggol (Dissolved), as has'been alleged.
As per a release, Sawombung Meira Paibi, village Authority and Local clubs held a joint meeting on Monday in connection with the killing of Lucy on July 15 and appealed to all concerned to ensure such brutal acts are not repeated in the future and for the culprits to be punished strictly according to the law.
Sawombung Meira Paibi also clarified that the deceased Maring mother was not handed over to Arambai Tenggol or anyone else.
The incident is likely to be have been carried out individuals with vested interests.
In addition, Sawombung Bazar is located along the national highway and as such, people commuting along the road often times join in the chaos, resulting in occurrences of unwanted incidents.
With regard to the arrests of the suspects from Sawombung village, the bodies stated that if the suspects are found to be involved in the crime, they will be permanently banished from the village.
The bodies then Extended deepest condolences and shared the grief of the bereaved family of 'our Maring mother' .
