Fertilizer fund

An additional fund of Rs 2.5 crore is set to be allocated to the Agriculture Department under appropriate Head of Account for procurement of fertilizer.
A meeting in this regard was held today at the Cabinet hall of Chief Minister's secretariat with Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the chair.
The meeting also discussed the problem related to the distribution of fertilizer (Urea) to the farmers.
It was also decided that the Agriculture Department will monitor the procurement and distribution of fertilizer.
In the meeting, various decisions were taken regarding the distribution of fertilizer.
It was decided that farmers possessing valid Farmer Identity Cards issued by the competent authority may procure fertilizer from DAOs/Dealers on production of the after payment of the requisite amount.
No other documents will be required in respect of such farmers.
For those without the card, Fertilizer (Urea) can be procured by the farmers on production of their Pattas and Aadhar Card from the District Agriculture Officers/Dealers after payment of the requisite amount.
It was also decided that tenant farmers, who are unable to produce Patta of the land, should obtain a certificate from their respective MLA indicating their Patta No and size of land and prepare/fill an undertaking (formate available at DAOs/Dealers) to the effect that they are the actual tenant farmers of the said land before they go to procure fertilizer at the office of the District Agriculture Officers/Dealers.
The meeting also resolved to instruct MLAs/SDOs/SDCs/Pradhan/UpPradhans/Adhyaksha/Councillors/Corporators/ VillageAuthority Chairman/Village Chief to release a certified list of farmers along with their Patta No, land holding size and Aadhar number in advance to avoid congestion at the District Agriculture Offices/Dealers.
Provision for distribution of fertilizer by the District Agriculture Officers/ Dealers to those individuals present in the list within 3 (three) days on receipt of such a list was also discussed.
