Governor attends IRCS meet at New Delhi

Imphal, July 17 2023:
Governor Anusuiya Uikey attended the annual general meeting of Indian Red Cross Com -mittee (IRCS) at Rashtra-pati Bhavan, New Delhi on Monday.
President Droupadi Murmu presided over the ceremonial session of ACM of IRCS, while union health minister & IRCS chairman Dr Mansukh Mandaviya along with governors of eight states were also present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Anusuiya Uikey appreciated all the members and volunteers of IRCS for their dedication and exemplary service to humanity especially during the COV1D pandemic.
She expressed confidence that IRCS would continue to work for the welfare of humanity by promoting the health and care of vul -nerable section of people and communities.
She particularly mentioned about the on-going crisis in the state of Manipur in which around 150 people have died and 60,000 people displaced.
She also mentioned about the problems and difficulties faced by the violence affected people in various relief camps.
The Governor then requested the President and the union health minister to extend all possible assistance to the affected people of Manipur in this difficult time.
One proposal which entails the requirements was also submitted by IRCS Manipur to the union health minister during the meeting.
Later, the accounts of income and expenditure of the previous years were also presented in the meetimg.
At the end, the Governor extended her sincere thanks to the President and the union health minister for successfully organising national level meeting of IRCS.
