Congress reaches out to children of relief camps in Moirang

Bishnupur, July 17 2023:
All India Congress Committee, Jawahar Bal Manch (AICC, JBM) National Chairman, Dr GV Hari expressed that it is unfortunate that the Central Government has failed to take up appropriate measures to resolve the communal crisis of Manipur which has been going on for more than 70 days.
He made the above statement while distributing study materials and toys to children residing in relief camps of Moirang College, Moirang Khoyol Keithel and Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur district today.
The distribution programme was jointly carried out by JBM and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) under the aegis of Rahul Gandhi, former president of AICC.

Highlighting the deplorable condition of relief camps where thousands of people displaced by the unfortunate clash are residing, he appealed to the Government to look into this matter at the earliest and take up relevant measures to improve the same.
He also shared the grief and loss of the displaced people.
Today's distribution programme has been carried out acting on the concern raised by these displaced children to Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the relief camps, he added.
MPCC president K Meghachandra who was present at the occasion said that the study materials and toys are distributed on humanitarian grounds and is not an initiative to gain political mileage.
He also decried Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the ongoing communal strife in Manipur which has affected thousands.
The distribution drive was also attended by National Coordinator JBM AICC Hassan Aman; former Minister I Hemochandra; MPCC vice-president Harishwar Goswami along with members of JBM and MPCC.
