AR aids displaced people, plants trees

Imphal, October 27 2023:
Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) extended a helping hand to the displaced people staying in various relief camps in Imphal East and Imphal West districts by collecting items such as candles, toys, eatable including candies, pickle and various home decoration items made by the camp residents by organising sale cum exhibition at Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi garrisons.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles organised a tree plantation drive at T Bongmol village in Tengnoupal district on Thursday wherein the villagers including children along with the troops planted 250 tree saplings for revitalising the surroundings.
The event focused on supporting afforestation and creating awareness amongst the participants, thereby creating a cleaner and green environment.
Meanwhile, responding to the urgent needs of the villagers of Thamnapokpi and Sanasabi, who have been facing severe water scarcity and had no means of water storage, Assam Rifles provided a 2000 litre-capacity water storage tank each to both the villages.
