Imphal, October 27 2023:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda has asserted that it is the 10 Kuki MLAs who are demanding a separate administration, not the BJP.
Clarifying on a video clip which surfaced on October 25 and later went viral regarding the controversy that it is the BJP MLAs who are demanding a separate administration, Sharda pointed out that not all the 10 Kuki MLAs belong to BJP.
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, the BJP Manipur Pradesh president asserted that there are two KPA MLAs and one Independent MLA among the Kuki legislators who appended their signatures on a representation which demanded separate administration.
BJP is always opposed to any demand for separate administration raised by any section of people, she said.
As a National party, due process has been initiated at the National level to take up befitting action against the seven BJP MLAs who are signatories of the separate administration demand, Sharda said.
It is not the BJP which is demanding separate administration but the 10 Kuki MLAs, she reiterated.
BJP will never support any group which demands separate administration but it will always work at its best level to protect the integrity of Manipur, she added.
